A group of friends and I who met on the job organized a reunion dinner for those of us who left for other opportunities. When we realized that our group of 15 represented 10 different agencies, we committed to doing it again next year at a larger scale as a networking event. We invited our new colleagues and professional partners and held our first mixer at Sequoia in South Street Seaport.  The turnout was beyond expectations, launching a series of seasonal mixers.

Naming the mixers became a fun game.  In, 2010, I hosted the Spring Bling at LEI, a cozy restaurant bar near the South Street Seaport. The weather was perfect and we packed the house. When the space reached capacity, Karen, the bartendar, unexpectedly announced, "Welcome to the SPRING BLING!"

And so it was named.
